Moon Phase Waxing Gibbous
feeling other’s emotions
drowning in the oceans
tears
fears
anger
confusion
exclusion
no one can understand
if they don’t read the same hand
if emotions from others sounds like a foreign affair
if you’re wondering why I’d care
it’s not something I purposefully choose
it’s a thing I can’t seem to lose
I don’t know if I would
even though sometimes what I feel is no good
I become aware
aware of other’s
others and their struggles
pain
sorrow
upset
discord
celebrations
successes
joy
elation
aggravation
loss
forgiveness
I feel it all
put up a wall
feeling other’s despair
wishing they knew how truly I do care
knowing I must no longer reveal
the ways I feel
stillness
I must allow
still learning how
I’m a fixer
carer
lover
peacemaker
when those I care for feel
upset
discomfort
misery
unrest
I try to do my best
to take their pain away
offer
love
time
space
keep my place
I know I must
it’s not my place to speak
must never overstep
boundaries
always must heed
even when I see a need
it’s not wanted from me
with caution I carefully step
myself I must also protect
doors slammed in one’s face
hurts
no matter what comes next it’s never the same
it’s happened too many times
no more mistakes
no matter what it takes
not this time
love
respect
welcoming
acceptance
given freely no strings
it’s my pleasure
gifting love
a treasure
rejected
be honest
not unkind
if you find
I’m too different than you
I’ll go away

Review of A Battle of Choices

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the second book in Patty Fletcher’s futuristic series, “The Blended Lives Chronicles; A Battle of Choices.” I loved the first one AND EQUALLY ENJOYED THIS ONE. It is a different type of story, but the same characters. I keyed into the romantic relationship between Derrick Gibbous, second in command of the Order, and High Priestess Lady Laya MoonWalker. The dialogue between all the characters is stupendous. At times, they spoke in poetry form or incantations, metaphors, puns. I cannot wait to see the third book in the series.
