Early Morning Observations

Moon Phase Waning Gibbous
Good morning to all, I hope this post finds you well.
Here, it’s early morning and Doves are singing along with other recently arrived spring birds outside my window.
I’m sitting here propped up on pillows, with Chief Seeing Eye® Dog Blue snoring softly beside me, checking email and other notifications before I hop out of bed to begin my day.
I’ve been here for a while, and I’ve had a chance to observe Prince Edward.
Before I tell you what I learned from my observations, the backstory.
Just before Christmas, I bought a huge cat tree, I didn’t know how big it was so when I got it, I realized it wouldn’t work for our tiny apartment. So, I gave it away to a friend and bought a smaller cat condo.
For the longest kind of time, no matter where I sat the thing, Prince Edward refused to use it. If I sat him upon it, he would scramble off and run back to his place on the table beside his food.
I tried sitting it several places, but nothing seemed to appeal to him.
The other day, after having an unused shower stool removed from my apartment, I found I had a spot at the end of Eddie’s table where the condo would fit. I put it there but still it seemed he would not have it.
Last night, when I went to bed, I decided if he didn’t start using the blasted thing soon, I was going to find some cat owner to give it to and be done with it. There’s not a lot of room in this apartment and I saw no need to take up space with something which would not be used.
This morning, as I lie here in bed reading mail, Prince Edward bounced about. He’d found a bottle cap on the floor and was having a rousing game of kitty hocky. I also learned; he’s been sneaking about.
When I paused to listen to the rain gently tapping on my windows and the birdsong flowing through the air, I heard a clawing noise and lo and behold, the prince has decided the condo is a good thing after all.
He’s figured out he can climb upon it and reach his table which holds his food and a snuggly blanket. He’s also sharpening his claws on it, and this is I must say a huge relief.
Not because he was clawing my furniture, but because he never clawed anything before at all and I’ve been having to take him to the vet to have his claws trimmed.
Anyhow, sorry for the long post. I find I like awakening early in the morning, sitting in my bed, and reading email and FB Etc. before I leap up and hurry into the day’s activities.
It’s rainy this morning but supposed to clear in the afternoon before another weather cell comes in for the evening so I want to get out in the sun later today.
Anyhow, the coffee is hot and the weather, while getting warmer is not and that’s the way we like it.
If you read to the end thanks.
May harmony find you and blessid may you be.
