Connection, What Is It and How Does It Happen?

Connection, What Is It and How Does It Happen?

Earlier today I read two different people’s opinion on how one can know they’re connecting with another.

While I’m not going to go and answer the questions from the TMI Tuesday post, I am going to speak about connecting and what I think it takes to connect and to know that we’ve done it.

First, let’s define what a connection is.

To me, a connection means that in some way I’ve related to another and they have in some way related to me.

Maybe they enjoyed something I said or wrote. Maybe they felt some kindred spirit with something I did or maybe they learned something from me, and maybe on the same token I had all these similar experiences from interacting with them.

I meet a lot of people each day in various ways.

Between all the formats of Social Media, and my blog there are tons of folks I meet, and I have connected with them and they with me in many ways.

I also have lots of physical connections. Sometimes it’s while taking the bus to or from somewhere. Sometimes it’s while shopping in a store and sometimes it happens when I walk Campbell throughout my neighborhood.

Sometimes I am not aware of the connection that has been made. Maybe someone saw Campbell and me out walking up and down the block and unknown to me just my making the effort to do what I do in the way that I am doing it has inspired them to start walking every-day. Maybe the thought crossed their mind that if I could do it while finding myself in my situation, they could do it while finding themselves in theirs.

What I’m saying is that we don’t always know we’ve made an impression on someone and so there-for we’re not always aware we’ve connected with them.

I find myself troubled when I read that someone feels that because they’ve some sort of physical limitation such as visual or hearing loss that they haven’t a lot of other ways to connect with someone.

Personally I think there are tons of ways that we connect with one another and I think the reason people aren’t aware of all that exists is because they’ve not allowed themselves to open up to all the possibilities which flow throughout our lives every-day.

I urge those of you reading to allow your intuition. Allow the instincts which are given to all of us to come alive in your lives.

I don’t think you’ll regret it.

We all have inner vision if we’ll only allow it to be so.

Food For Thought

We all are the Light, automatically. So we really don’t have to go too much further than that. We all have a Light within us – it is the Soul; it is that spark of God, of the Divine, that activates our consciousness.

  2. this is an interesting thing to contemplate – your commentary on this question reveals that you are outgoing, positive, and motivated to make the best of every day in every way, and with everyone you can. You are on the connection train, Patty. Toot Toot…Clear the tracks, and here she comes, World.

    1. LOL.

Thanks Lynda. I needed that today.

I love being all the things you stated.

Sometimes I get a bit disconnected, you know, off the tracks but I’m finding these days it takes less and less time to get reconnected and on my way again.
