Tarot Card of the Month – the 7 of Cups

Good morning, I hope all are well.

Here, the coffee is hot, the weather most definitely is not and that’s the way Chief Seeing Eye® Dog Blue and I love it.

It was a bit chilly even for me and the chief, at 6 AM when we bumbled sleepily out into the 23-degree F dark for the chief’s first relief time of the day. Blue is not a fan of the dark morning, and neither am I. We were used to getting up and running round the pathway which traverses the way around the apartment complex first thing in the morning. I’m not comfortable doing that in full dark, so we’ve taken to walking what used to be our evening walk. He’s adjusted but now, rather than playtime after eating, he gets a snuggle and goes back to bed. The only good to come from this is that I’m able to work more when I’m my most energetic.

It seems to be bugging me more than him. I’ve no idea why. I suppose it’s because I got in a sort of routine and now, I must change it.

That having been grumbled about, we’ve just returned from our morning run. One good thing to come from a frosty Sunday morning is, people aren’t out and about yet. I was able to let Blue run full-speed up and down the hill, he found plenty of work thanks to people’s having parked crooked with bumpers up on the curb, car noses sticking far out over the walk and a couple of small carts left sitting about.

One wonders, what the people at the top of the hill and half-way down the other side do on Saturday night. LOL.

We’re back inside, a cup of coffee to hand and Blue readying to snooze in the sun so for now, that’s well in our world.

Onto the computer. Casey did find and fix a couple things wrong with my computer. However, one problem kept reasserting itself and causing much mayhem. I’d decided to hook up my old computer and redownload NVDA. I knew as soon as I did that and connected it to the internet and all my accounts everything would transfer. I picked up my Laptop and as I was moving it the problem of icons leaping about as if they were jumping beans all over my desktop begin again. This time, I was able to observe something. “Hmmm? Is something activating the touch screen?” I sat the Laptop down, reached out and placed my fingertips on the screen and, Voila! I found a Tarot card I stuck tucked into the edge of my monitor as has been my habit since I began drawing a weekly or monthly card.

If the card is one, I want to contemplate, I place it in the edge of the monitor and touch it occasionally to think about it or maybe take a moment to look something up on the net about it. I never had a problem with it but somehow, something changed, and it was causing all kinds of misery. I took it away, restarted the computer and Bang! It worked.

As I’ve been using it over the weekend, I realize some of the other troubles I was having have gone too. I believe now that card may have been causing trouble all along and I didn’t know it.

Is there a hidden message in that?

Casey says I have the most Vexing Problems and I agree.

I’m back up and running at full-power and I am free to work until2 this afternoon, when I will switch gears from magazine and email to readying for VIP Online Toastmasters.

While all this has been going on, I’ve been recovering from what was a miserable but fast-moving flu. It started at the beginning of the week, with an upset stomach. I thought it was from something I’d eaten but considering everything which came after I now doubt. As the stomach issue was fading, an upper respiratory issue was brewing. Soon, I was dealing with stuffy head and an annoying cough. By Thor’s Day, I was coughing all the time, my throat was raw and sore, and Oh Joy! I had to deliver a speech at my Message Crafters Toastmasters club meeting on Friday. I managed that, but I was tired out after.

Now, the tide seems to be turning on this sickness, and though Friday night was the very worst, with me up and down coughing and in the steamy bathroom for an hour at 2 AM I now feel better and believe I’m on the mend.

OK. I’m off for now. Talk soon.

Have a wonderful Sublime Sunday.

May Harmony find You.

Seven Of Cups Keywords

UPRIGHT: Opportunities, choices, wishful thinking, illusion.

Seven Of Cups Upright

The Seven of Cups is a card of new opportunities, choices, and at times, illusion. When the Seven of Cups appears in a Tarot reading, you have many options and opportunities from which you can choose. But be careful! You are prone to illusion and unrealistic ideals. An opportunity with promises of more money, more fame, or more power may sound appealing, but as you look deeper into what is on offer, you may realise it’s not everything it’s cracked up to be. Your ego may pull you in a specific direction, but it’s important you check in with your Higher Self first. Evaluate your options and dig below the surface to discover what’s involved with each choice.

Often, the Seven of Cups can be a sign of wishful thinking and projecting into the future about what you would like to create, rather than taking action here in the present to make it happen. For example, you may wish for a fitter, more healthy body, until it’s time to get out there and exercise. Or you might wish for a successful business fuelled by passive income, but you’re not ready and willing to put in the hard work now to enjoy the fruits of your labour later. If you spend most of your time wishing but not doing the work, then it’s time to choose just one thing and make it happen.

You may find that your ideas are not grounded in reality. Your plans might sound fabulous in your imagination, but when it comes to implementing them, you may realise they do not work in the real world.

The Seven of Cups may be a sign of ‘shiny object syndrome’, where you keep finding the ‘next big thing’ but fail to see any of those new opportunities through to the end. When you are constantly in the idea phase, you miss the chance to bring your designs into fruition. Again, now is a time to focus on the one thing that will move you closer to your goal; resist the temptation to get side-tracked with other ideas as they arise. If need be, note your ideas as they come up, but stay focused on the one thing you’re doing.

This card is inviting you to move out of the ideas and options phase and choose. Each will have its pros and cons – it’s up to you to make sure that the option you select is in alignment with your purpose and your Highest Good – even if you feel somewhat paralysed by the options available to you.

Seven Of Cups Reversed

Seven of Cups Tarot Card Meanings tarot card meaning

The reversed Seven of Cups often appears when you face several different choices and, instead of choosing the option that may appeal to others, you are relying on your inner wisdom and guidance to show you the best way. You may come up with your own criteria to help you make decisions in alignment with your inner being.

If you find yourself with multiple opportunities or ideas, ground yourself first and reflect on what you want for the long-term. All these shiny new objects in front of you have a certain ‘magic’ power over you right now, and you’re at risk of losing focus if you chase after pipedreams. Take a step back and assess the options against your priorities to work out which opportunities will be a real benefit to you.

As a card of choices and options, the reversed Seven of Cups can mean you are overwhelmed by choice and cannot move forward. Reduce your options and focus on what is important to you. You don’t need to keep searching for that big idea; you have what you need. Make your pick and move forward with it.
