This morning, started off like any other after having stayed up way too late reading a book and drinking wine with me, dragging as if I were 100 years old and Blue yawning while making the decision to go back to bed.
Finally, the call of the coffeepot was stronger than my need to hide in bed, with a pillow over my head so I levered myself out of bed, did my routine of brushing teeth, and hair, washing face and trying to come to life.
Once that was done, I tiptoed to the kitchen hoping my dog would not bounce to life just yet and to my delight, the coffee was done, and I knew soon there would be life in Patty’s Worlds again.
After a few appreciative sips I was ready to sit in the Great and Powerful Chair, which is my command center to tackle the mounds of email which had come in overnight when suddenly in the distance I heard a low chuckle.
As is the way of things, I make plans and the Universe laughs, and it appeared today would be no different.
I booted up the computer and though things seemed a bit loud, everything else was running smoothly.
“Ah.” I sighed, as my email program opened, “Let’s see what the email fairy has brought.”
But the email fairy was detained, my email would not open. It wanted me to sign in.
“What the heck? Did I somehow get logged out? How did this happen? Dang. I don’t need problems like this!” I grumbled to no one as I restarted the computer to try again.
No dice. No matter what I did, it would not let me sign in. I kept getting an error which told me my browser was not secure and when I clicked the learn more link it began babbling about internet explorer no longer being available and then it suggested I try another browser.
“What on earth? Nobody uses internet explorer anymore. Hell, I cannot even remember the last time I used it.”
I poured myself another cup of coffee, popped a Tylenol with a half bottle of water and sat down to see what I could do.
After several attempts at fixing the problem and running into another brick wall. I threw up my hands in frustration and declared, “OK, it’s time for Casey!”
Grabbing my phone, I dashed off an email to him and sat about doing morning tasks online via web mail and on my phone. Casey is on mountain time, I’m on eastern, so I figured it would be a while before I heard from him.
“That’s OK.” I said as I drank in more caffeinated fuel “There’s more than one way to get things done.” However, web mail is a pain, and feeling the stress of needing to get a late breaking announcement out, I was beginning to come a little unglued.
Just when I thought I could go no further with this hideous morning I found myself in my text alert went off and as I read, “I’ve got an easy fix for you if you’ve got a minute.” I cheered! “YAY! Casey to the rescue.”
I dashed off a reply, ran to the coffeepot for another cup of strength, booted up my wayward computer and I made the call.
When Casey came on the line, and we’d exchanged good morning hellos, he connected to my computer and after about 15 minutes or so, the problem was fixed, and I was on my way to having a productive day.

The idea behind my personalized access technology solution is that people have different needs and learning styles. Some want to learn as much as possible so they can be ready for anything. If that’s you, great! However, just as important is the next person who may simply want the minimum to get the job done, then call later when something else crops up. We all have different limits, and sometimes less is more. Some learn by example, some learn better by taking a few pointers and trying to figure things out for themselves, and some just want it fixed so they can go on about their day. You may be:
A student who is working on that all-important paper. Do you struggle with research, reading books, or those dreaded citations? Been there, done that!
A business professional whose company has suddenly made changes or updates that are driving you insane. Maybe you’re even more ambitious and want to build a website, or take a website from good to great in class. How does your name in a dot com sound?
A retired lifelong learner or hobbyist who wants technology to just work the way it should. On the other hand, you may need help with online resources to feed your hobby. If only I had a dime for every time I heard, “I had no idea that was available online!”
None of these? Have no fear. I specialize in makin’ your tech life easy, no matter what that entails. I think outside the box and color outside the lines. I will tame your tech for you!

Some people hate the idea of getting a gift, simply because it is hard to find that incredible gift that says, “I was thinking of you.” You may not want to get someone a gift certificate, flowers, cookies, or chocolates. Let me know if you need just address info, or more detailed stats like marital status, criminal background, or something else. Give me as much as you can, and I’ll start tracking them down for you.
Find yourself needing to crank out three research papers with at least ten references for each one? I feel your pain! Been there, ate the pizza and got the t-shirt. 😉 Do you need to find information on a competitor? If the info you need is in a book, magazine, or journal article, I have access. While I cannot give you the entire book or professional magazine, I can share excerpts from those sources. Let me know how much information you need, and I will start collecting and collating for you! Formatting those documents can also be done for you. Whether it’s APA, MLA, or something else, just write, and let me make your citations and references right.
Are you a Writer?

What about a nice table of contents? Just let me know.
