Thanks for reading and sharing my work.
oh, how excited I am
a new journey, for me to explore
walking, with my big Labrador
anytime, anywhere, we go as we please
walking in tandem, we’re free
Accepting and Releasing My Roiling Thoughts

While going into and out of the “Big C” I realized I had many friends.
I’ve also been separated from Blue, who is my best friend.
I miss him so badly, it hurts at the root of my very soul.
Not one moment of my day is free from him. I open the frig, I look to make sure he keeps his place.
Then, I cry because he’s not there, and what I opened the frig for no longer seems appetizing.
I know, at this moment in time, had Blue been with me when this fluid in my lung hit, I’d have had to have help and it most likely would not be available to me.
I’m so frustrated. Thank you for seeing me through it.
I know, I am wrong but I feel I’m letting Blue down as a handler. These are prime years for him, and I’ve wasted so much first, moving from a good walking neighborhood and then into a dump where I couldn’t get anywhere without a fuss.
Moving here, trying to get acclimated and then, realizing I was having orientation and hearing issues and vehemently denying it nearly wrecked all I’d accomplished.
Someone in my circle realized I was hiding things and called me on it and I am ever grateful.
These Haiku above and below this note go out to the ones who continue checking in with me, to those who plan celebrations, and of course, those who continue to take care of Blue.
This poem is for you!
For all you are – all you do
without you, the poem couldn’t be
love unbidden came back on its own

If you have made mistakes, even serious mistakes, you may have a fresh start from any moment you choose, for this thing we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down, but the staying down.

March 26, 2026Letting go is good, keep it up and so is gratitude, yes!

March 26, 2026So, in this case I’m not letting go, when I say releasing I mean that I am allowing them to go forward to their intended place of knowing for others.

March 26, 2026Accepting means accepting what was given. Read the Haiku again and the backstory interlude again and give that perspective a try. Not eeverything is needed to be let go.
