A Poem of Spring Friendship – Hope of Renewal #PoetryPlace

A Poem of Spring Friendship – Hope of Renewal #PoetryPlace

We were friends.

Wrote beautiful personal emails to one another.

She gave me encouragement and love,

Acceptance and assurance.

Even rained seeds in my hope of prosperity garden,

Nourished the soil with knowledge.

She said she missed teaching.

Did she not know?

Now suddenly,

She’s gone.

No more does the light of her sun show.

We were friends,

Didn’t always agree on every point.

We sat those things aside.

No fingers toward one another did we point.

I hope,

I pray,

My friend,

Will return one day.

Here I am,

My friend.

Come back,

Let’s be friends again.

AS I will it.

May Harmony find Friendship.

Blessid Be.

This brought tears tomy eyes, Patty.

  2. The bad thing is, I’ve no idea why they stopped answering my mail.
I hate when people don’t have the decency to just say, “I don’t want to be friends anymore.”
    thanks for reading and commenting.

Hi Patty, this is a wonderful and poignant poem.

    1. Hi, Robbie.
Thanks for reading and commenting. I’m glad you liked the poem.
Ironically the person who has suddenly disappeared from my life is one of the very people who taught me to love poetry and to see it inside me.
