I decided to give up the gym today. After all when you go up and downstairs as many times in a day as I do, you don’t need an expensive running machine. All you need is a bad memory or a shortage of spectacles.

NO, THAT IS NOT A TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR, I really did say bad memory or a shortage of spectacles.

Here’s the thing: scientific fact: as you grow older your sight gets longer and your memory shorter. (Unfortunately, I can never remember if it is in direct proportion or indirect proportion) Anyway, I need glasses and because I work upstairs, I keep a pair upstairs and a pair downstairs.

Like all sensible people, I hear you say.

Totally! Until the day arrives when you find the pair upstairs missing.

You charge downstairs, scour the house and the car, and then take up your downstairs pair…
