It was just like in that old Beatles song. Here I was, on a river boat, surrounded by tangerine trees with a marmalade sky overhead. Yellow and green cellophane flowers hung above me. The girl with kaleidoscope eyes called, but I knew better than to answer. I wasn’t about to follow her down to the bridge by the fountain where rocking horse people ate marshmallow pies amid the tall flowers. I turned away and waited for this to end.
