When I heard this song back in the 1970’s, it didn’t make much sense to me, but now it does. We recently observed Martin Luther King Day, but this song isn’t about the dream he had. To me, it’s about where you go when you die. I like the idea of crossing a stream when the time is right for me. Who says pets are the only ones to cross a rainbow bridge?
According to Wikipedia, Abba, the group that popularized this song, originated in Stockholm, Sweden. They were formed in 1972 by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. Abba is an acronym for the first letters of each person’s name.
