Happy Holly Jolly Holidays from Lynda McKinney Lambert: Pantoum to Winter #PoetryPlace

Good morning Everyone, and welcome back to our Happy Holly Jolly Holidays Party.

Lynda McKinney Lambert took time out of her Christmas morning before readying for her day of festivities to send me a Wintery poem, and I’m sharing it here with you.

This morning, here in the land of Kingsport Tennessee, just like in Pennsylvania where Lynda is, we’re having a white Christmas. It is the first of its kind in many years for us.

Happy Holly Jolly Holidays to All!

And, Merry Christmas to All who are celebrating!

*Begin Lynda’s Message and Poem*

I’d like to share this poem, with your followers today.

“Pantoum to Winter,” appears in my chapbook – first snow – published this year by Finishing Line Press.

I think the reader can quickly see that I am in love with winter!

I hope your day is merry and bright and all things good. Hugs, Lynda

Pantoum to Winter

God viewed the transitory seasons

helped them change their clothes

painted the earth with vibrant strokes

sang at the birth of opalescent skies

helped them change their clothes

dressed the earth in sparkling white diamonds

sang at the birth of opalescent skies

hung frozen glass wind-chimes on snow laden trees

dressed the earth in sparkling white diamonds

stopped awhile to make snow angels in the windswept field

hung frozen glass wind-chimes on snow laden trees

called forth scarlet-feathered birds to brighten the pale slate sky

stopped awhile to make snow angels in the windswept field

painted the earth with vibrant strokes

called forth scarlet-feathered birds to brighten the pale slate sky

God viewed the transitory seasons.

Published in first snow, Finishing Line Press, 2020.
