The Importance of Rules and Regulations and Why We Should Follow Them

Hello to All!

I hope this posting finds you doing super Well.

Today, I am going to be talking about a subject I’m finding people suddenly seem to have no real regard for.

I’m especially finding it to be the case in Email groups and across ‘Social Media’ platforms.

Now, I’ll be the first to admit that there are times when ‘Rules and Regulations’ can and even should be ignored. That adage of “Rules were meant to be broken” is sometimes true, but I must say it is to my mind very seldom when it is appropriate.

Most times, there are excellent reasons for ‘Rules and Regulations’ and to me it is a sign of great disrespect when people go out of their way to disobey.

Take for example a group.

Many times, groups have ‘Rules and Regulations’ on topics. On when and where things can be posted. Normally, either in the ‘Announcement’ section on Facebook groups, or in the ‘Rules and Regulations’ or “Group Description” section online in an email group the group owner or moderator will post what is and what is not acceptable, yet these days it seems to me that people are throwing such things to the wind and posting whenever, wherever and whatever they wish.

What’s worse, is that I don’t see group leaders doing a blasted thing about it.

I know that within our own government we seem to have thrown all ‘Rules and Regulations’ to the winds, but must we as members of society do this too? Does it not seem to you that now more than ever before we ought to be working toward restoring order rather than creating chaos?

I’m not perfect at it but I try as much as is possible to follow ‘Rules and Regulations’ on groups and if I’m not sure, I will write the group owner or moderator privately and ask.

Personally, I find it a much more relaxing time if I know what is expected of me if I am joining a group.

I urge you, during this new time of Email and Online groups we find ourselves in find out what the ‘Rules and Regulations’ are and try to follow them.

Also, to you group owners and moderators, step up to the plate. Don’t be afraid to speak up and say, “Hey! Follow the ‘Rules and Regulations’ please.”

Show some respect for not only your group leaders, but the others in the group and for yourself as well.

For now, this is Patty who is feeling a bit annoyed with people who seem to be going out of their way to throw ‘Rules and Regulations’ to the wind saying…

Be respectful.

May Harmony find You and Blessid Be.

  1. There is a lack of discipline in the world, Patty, and people think they can do as they like. It is a shame because it infringes on the rights of others.

      Hi Robbie.

I don’t know why, today of all days it bubbled to the surface for me but it did.

What I’ve learned when such things happen is that to blog about it in some reasonable way helps.

I also learn when doing so that there are others who feel quite the same way.

      It drives me to distraction.

      I think I’m getting old.

Thanks for reading and for commenting.

      Food For Thought

We all are the Light, automatically. So we really don’t have to go too much further than that. We all have a Light within us – it is the Soul; it is that spark of God, of the Divine, that activates our consciousness.
