KING CAMPBELL LEE A.K.A. BUBBA ®SEEING EYE DOG…
NOVEMBER 28, 2008-SEPTEMBER 24, 2020.
Good morning to all, and Happy Thor’s Day.
Some time back, friend and client Trish Hubschman who is the author of the Amazing Tracy Gayle series and I were chatting back and forth in an email conversation during which I lamented the fact that no matter how early I started or how hard I worked, there was just never enough time in the day to fit everything in during WordPress Wednesday, or even worse I would forget someone’s piece.
Trish of course reminded me of the saying, “tomorrow’s another day”. One thing led to another and Trish hit upon the idea of Thinking of it Thursday for a title of what might become a new category for my blog.
I’ve used that a time or two but somehow it didn’t seem quite right to me, then today, as I was reading email and saw my daily entry for the Magickal Calendar, just like that Thinking Thor’s Day popped into my head and here we are.
So, sit back and get ready for another great day ahead.
Because on Thinking Thor’s Day there are good things galore.
For now, this is Patty who is looking forward to the day ahead, and King Campbell who hasn’t yet gotten out of bed saying…
Have a Great day and remember it’s up to you to make it that way. So, make it a Great one.
There will be no Thinking Thor’s Day today. Just the following sad announcement.
This morning, as I read the daily entry for the Magickal Calendar I follow as part of my morning’s routine, I begin the process of drawing on all the strength I possess within, and receive from without.
I draw the power of the quarters, East… South… West… and North…
I call on Mother Father God, and I know they walk with me on this Thor’s Day.
I know, as I listen to Campbell’s paws pattering on the loveseat where he sleeps, dreaming his doggy dreams in a fitful fog of pain pills, that I’m without doubt, doing the right thing.
What is that right thing?
Yesterday, after a particularly rough day, my vet and I made the decision to set King Campbell A.K.A. Bubba now retired Seeing Eye Dog free from the hellish plague of pain and confusion he’s battled so mightily over these last few months, and so it is with a heavy heart that I ready us for our final journey to the vet’s office later today.
Campbell has been my constant companion and friend for many moons now, and it is with a heavy heart I step up to the challenge of doing what is best for him, not me, this day.
I ask you, lend me your strength, and hold a good thought, for we’re terribly weary.
Last night, my boy was up and down again and again, crying out in pain every time he made the trip from the house to the yard to pee.
Twice he had accidents before he got there and he shook and shivered with anxiety and dismay.
Now, as I type, he is asking for me yet again, and so I must go.
I thank you for your prayers and well-wishes.
I will be out of pocket for most of this day.
“There is no part of my life which does not belong to the Goddess.
There is no part of my body which does not belong to the Goddess.
I am she, and she is me.
We are one, yet we are we.
So Mote It Be! Blessid Be.
PS. Today is my mother’s birthday. Had she lived, she would’ve been 77-years-old.
Happy birthday Mom. I’m sending King Campbell to you for your birthday gift today. Love and care for him well as you traverse the heavens together.
May Peace, Love, and Freedom Reign and Remain Forever.
May the two of you have many Happy adventures.
THE PUPPY GREW UP AND BECAME
BY: PATTY L. FLETCHER
Once upon a time long ago,
When you were very small you know.
In the morning’s early dawn, you were born,
But all too soon from your mother you were torn.
You were sent to live far away with a family you thought forever you would stay.
You learned the neatest and most awesome tricks.
So much more than chasing sticks.
You learned to sit to rest to lay,
You learned to obey in every way.
You did all these things so very well,
And every day you grew.
All too soon your life changed again,
And you made another new friend.
He was your teacher, your very own guide.
Would you forever walk by his side?
No! This was not to be.
You learned all you could from him,
You were given to me.
Fast we became best of friends,
And it is with me you will now stay until our work together ends.
In honor of Guide Dogs, puppy raisers, Trainers, and Handlers Everywhere!
