Hello to all.
I hope all are well.
I thought I would send a quick update before I try to get any work done.
The morning has been full of tending Campbell and a few chores. I didn’t shower or eat until nearly noon.
Finally, he is sleeping and I’ve got a few minutes.
I must tell you that so far today has been some sort of new fresh hell I didn’t know could be. Just when I think we’ve come across the worst of it things change and I realize we’ve seen nothing before.
As you know, I’ve had to stop the anti-inflammatory meds so he can start the steroids. This has increased his pain, which has increased his leg weakening, which has increased his balance issues, which has increased his anxiety.
Taking him out has become a major production. I must first get him out of the house, and onto the porch. This takes a good 2 to 4 minutes because he’s scared of falling. He’s done so a couple times coming out of the door because you must step down from the house onto the porch.
Once we’re on the porch I then have to get him down the two steps onto the sidewalk.
Then it takes quite a bit of time to get him walking and then to relieve, and then the whole process is reversed going back up and into the house.
Each one of these times out which is about every 2 to 3 hours takes about a half hour.
Once back inside I must sit with him until he settles down from the whole experience and before I know it we’re starting all over again.
Knowing what I do about the steroids and the symptoms they cause for him which range from the normal drinking copious amounts of water, more frequent urination, to the additional nausea which he always seems to get from taking them I feel like I’m leading us straight from the 5TH circle of hell into the 7TH and beyond.
Well, for now I’m off to see about getting a bit of promoting work done, and then it’ll be time to go out again for the afternoon.
I’ll answer emails, and other notifications as time permits.
