Now, that I’ve got everyone’s attention I’ve just really got to speak on something. I mean over these past few days I’ve had some conversations with folks that have just seriously got me shaking my head and I cannot keep the thoughts they’ve brought up in my mind shut inside one moment longer. I must speak about these things else I may simply self-destruct and be no more.
What has me all riled up? Well, I’m going to speak on it…
One more thing before I do, I’m not going to even attempt to apologize for this rant! So, if you’re easily offended, have a thin skin, or boohoo easily, you want to stop reading right now, because I’m going to talk as bluntly as possible and I don’t sugar coat nothin’ so consider yourselves warned.
I’d like to just make one statement as a promotional assistant. Wait for it… Get ready… Take it in…
Another statement… Wait for it… Get ready… Take it in… Pay Attention…
OK. These statements are very straight forward. So, I shouldn’t need to explain, but after the conversations I’ve had of late, I fear I must.
First, let me explain what I do.
I’m a content promoter. This means you provide the content; I promote it onto my blog, and across my Social Media platforms.
I’m also a network and Outreach Assistant.
This means, I search for, and send to you, promotional opportunities.
You must go through, find what works for you, use those which do, and let me know when and where they can be seen, or heard, and I will promote them.
In a nutshell, I’m just the messenger. You must provide the message for me to relay.
If you want people to know you’re a great writer, you must let them know.
Provide me with content writing relative to the books you’ve written.
If you write romance, send me short stories, or other related material you’ve written on to put onto my blog and share with readers so they will see that you’re good at what you do and want to buy your book.
Same goes for all other genres. Mystery writer? Send me a mystery. YA send me something relative to that. Whatever, if you want people to believe in your work enough to buy it you must prove it to them.
Fear interviews? Why? Did you not put out a book thus making it available for the entire world to buy?
Why would you do that and then turn around and fear the promotional process?
Makes no sense.
It’s your work, get involved.
OK. Rant over. I return you to your regularly scheduled promotions.
