Hi, thank you for sharing, and thank you for commenting to let me know that this was helpful to you. I guess of late I’ve been feeling really frustrated never know who is reading and who isn’t. I know I shouldn’t worry about it, but oh well! We all have our weirdo worries. Anyway, glad the article was helpful to you. It was certainly helpful to me. I see lots of this going on. It’s quite annoying. We work hard to publish our books, and get them out there to the public only to have a lot of piracy going on.

I try not to worry about all that too much. A friend of mine who is a radio talkshow host told me once, that if he wondered if people were listening to him he would start worrying, then he would not be able to do what he was doing and enjoy it. That, it was pretty good advice. Sometimes the idiot voices get jabbering and I listen. Most times I just turn and tell them to be quiet. Well dictation put in a couple extra words I didn’t intend but U get the idea. LOL.

I do get the idea, Patty – and his and his attitude is a good one – to paraphrase “dance like there’s no-one looking” – enjoy what you do and do it like no-one else is noticing. 😂

I thought about that today while I was out walking Campbell. We were going along, doing our thing, and all of a sudden, the wind took my cane out of my hand, and I had to go crawling around on the ground to hunt it. I noticed all these cars just whizzing by on the street beside me. And I thought to myself, these people don’t even see me. Why in the world am I worrying about what I must look like while I am down here crawling around on the ground? Then, I started thinking about what we are talking about here. About whether people are reading, or not reading, what ever. And again, I ask myself why on earth am I worrying about it? I had to remind myself why I do what I do. It absolutely helped a lot to have that mindset firmly back in place. Then, I thought about how that relates to people giving away free books when they should not. I guess, they think it is OK. Because we say we write because we enjoy it. But thieving, is wrong. I guess they don’t realize, this is our job, and I said to someone the other day, you wouldn’t walk into a restaurant and ask them to give you free food would you? Why, do you expect me to give away all my work?
