A cat?
How wonderful!
Oh, sorry. Yall have no idea what I’m talking about.
Well, read the interview for goodness sake.
It’s wonderful.
And Joan. She changed it up a little.
How great!

Jewniquely Myself

Darkness hangs low over my winter garden this morning, seeping into my flesh despite extra layers of flannel and wool. And even though yesterday’s rain is gone, mist weeps into my upturned face.

My heart is weighted down by the news of a dear friend drawing near to death. I whisper another prayer, a blessing in her direction, smile weakly remembering our last conversation, her hope for the new treatments, her plans for afterward, her delight that we shared a kind of quirky humor as well as open honesty.

And even now the garden speaks to me. Not of death and rebirth, but simply of being. The garden is what it is– no matter the season. And so is she, my dear friend. She is what she is, no matter the season.

I turn toward the light of my porch lamp and walk slowly back inside. ***
And this afternoon…

This is a fantastic interview! I will love that Mrs. Phyllis’ favorite punctuation mark is the question mark! Ms. Joan, I will be praying for you and your friend.

I’m not at all surprised that Phyllis likes the question mark. Nor am I surprised that she would want to be a cat.

Do question marks and cats not go together?

      Also I love Charlotte’s Web.

Makes me want to read that book again.

Well, all I can say is that if you were to somehow become a cat and I were to end up with you that would be a most incredible yet just a tad bit disconcerting experience. Because I can only imagine the mischief you would get into as such a being. It brought much to the imagination.

Furthermore I think, since you like the question mark so much and since that little question of, what if? Is what prompts you to write, well, I think you should ask yourself, “What if I were a cat?” then write a short story about what that would be like.

      We readers would love it.

Meow…Erm? I mean Now, what do you think about that?
